PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Carletta Hurt

2023-2024 PRESIDENT

MEET CARLETTA

Dear members, sponsors, supporters, and friends,

I am humbled to be entrusted with the mission and legacy of our chapter, and it is my goal to cultivate a culture of CARE as we work together to promote educational, wealth building and growth opportunities for groups historically underrepresented in business and entrepreneurship.

Theodore Roosevelt once said, "People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care.” My plan is to make sure CARE is the driving force of everything we do. For over two decades my record of service to this organization – first in Atlanta starting with Leaders of Tomorrow and with you all here in Washington D.C. – has demonstrated the love, dedication, and commitment I have for this organization.  And now, my plan is to continue to offer action-oriented leadership that not only propels us forward but also allows us to be of greater service to our membership and the Black business community.

Relationship is the currency of business, so my first priority is to create new points of meaningful and intentional connections between our board, members, sponsors, supporters, DC government, and small business administration.  I am creating opportunities for members to meet with me and discuss ways the organization create stronger connections and expand our resources for the betterment of the organization and overall community. If you are interested in participating, please email me at president@dcblackmbaa.org. I’d love to chat.

Respectfully,

Dr. Carletta S. Hurt
